The City of White Hall provides an Animal Control facility to give shelter to stray dogs picked up in the city limits. Dr. Michael Jones provides veterinarian services to these animals. Below are the rules and regulations of owning a dog in the city.
It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to allow a pet owned by it to run at large or to keep or harbor a pet three months of age or older, within the corporate limits of the city of White Hall, that does not bear a tag certifying that said pet has been vaccinated for rabies within the year next proceeding. Every pet covered by this ordinance must have and wear a collar or harness of such type that the vaccination tag may be firmly attached to said collar or harness. Failure to keep such tag securely attached to the collar or harness at all times shall be unlawful.
Nuisance dogs running loose in White Hall are subject to being apprehended by Animal Control.
Any dog apprehended by Animal Control will be boarded at the Animal Control facilities on 108 Clinic Drive.
To retrieve a dog that has been apprehended, contact City Hall at (870) 247-2399 for arrangements.
Retrieval fees are as follows:
Boarding: $5.00 per day
First Offense: $30.00 per dog
Second Offense: $50.00 per dog
Third Offense: $70.00 per dog
To adopt a dog from the Animal Control facilities, please contact City Hall at (870) 247-2399. To complete the adoption, bring records of sterilization and vaccination since date of adoption to City Hall.
For missing pets, please contact City Hall at (870) 247-2399 to set an appointment with a representative of the Animal Control department to check for your dog at the shelter. To expedite the process, please bring a picture of the dog, if available, to City Hall.
